Aled Jones

ALED JONES - Singer, actor, radio and TV presenter - loved by the nation originally for his pure treble voice has just celebrated his 25th year/silver jubilee as a household name and his career is going from strength to strength. Aled has been a regular on Songs of Praise for circa 7 years and is also the youngest presenter to appear on the show.

After studying at the Royal Academy of Music and Bristol's Old Vic Theatre School, Aled has played Joseph in Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Joseph and the Technicolour Dreamcoat' and last year performed as Caractacus Potts in 'Chitty Chitty Bang Bang' at the Welsh Millenium Centre. Later this year he is playing the lead role in Irving Berlin's 'White Christmas' kicking off in Plymouth and moving to The Lowry in Manchester.

Aled has his own radio show on BBC Radio 2 every Sunday morning from 7-9am called 'Good Morning Sunday with Aled Jones' and is a regular on Friday Night is Music Night as well as a regular stand-in for Sarah Kennedy, Ken Bruce, Steve Wright and Sir Terry Wogan -who is later this year collaborating with on another Children in Need Christmas single - last years release 'Little Drummer Boy' reached number 3 in the singles chart making a considerable amount of money for the charity. He also appears on BBC Radio 3's 'The Choir' as well as having his own chat show on BBC Radio Wales.

Aled currently has 27 albums to his name - selling over 6 million to date and last year completed a hugely successful tour of Australia. He is hoping to record another studio album this year with a view to touring it early next year in the UK, Europe and Australia. Later this year he is also releasing a book called 'Aled's Ultimate Hymns' which is a follow up to the DVD last year 'Aled's Ultimate Carols' which aired on ITV1 last Christmas Eve.

He is also currently busy filming for 'Escape to the Country' which will be aired later this year as well as appearing at one-off concerts in the UK either singing or presenting. There are also other TV options in the pipe-line.

2009 is another busy year for Aled and he is forever grateful to all that have made it possible.
